Tried therapy or coaching and aren't sure how to look at the disappointment of its lack of results?
You once went to a therapist for a while and didn’t progress, and now you think healing should be done without professionals or mentors altogether.
Instead of asking deeper questions trying to discover what didn’t work in the relationship? What was my part of the therapy not working? What was even my deeper intention with starting?
(In any type of job you will find people who excel and people who are basic or even terrible, including therapists, coaches, …)
Just as with any other relationship: sometimes you two just aren't a good fit, and that's okay.
Tawakkul ‘ala Allah is the beginning of your healing journey, because it’s very much about accepting that it’s going to take its time before you find the answers and the strategies that work fantastically for you as an individual.
Which doesn’t mean it’s ok to stay stuck, because in staying stuck you are damaging yourself and others.
It’s a lot about being able to let go and let Allaah arrange your affairs and your steps forward, and in this way letting your nervous system calm down.
You see, one of the beautiful results in being tested is the fact that we are created to heal, and that with overcoming things, we unlock a strength and resilience we could have never discovered had we lived only in ease and comfort.
When you are tested, you are in a zone where you are presented with the ability to train your response to stress and regulate your emotions.
How many people miss those opportunities and stay the same person they always were, instead of becoming the highest possible version of themselves!
We dare to expand our horizons and set bigger goals for ourselves, because someone who overcame their own nafs.. She knows that with Allah’s aid she’s truly capable of anything.
