Welcome to my space
Assalaamu ‘alaykum! I’m Amaani, and I help Sunni women become confident, mentally healthy, and smarter in their approach to life and the Akhirah.
Why Sunni women only? Because my coaching methods are largely based on the Qur’an and Sunnah, as I believe there is no true Wellness that is not connected to the pleasure of The Creator of everything.
Have you noticed how many things we know from psychology that are already found in our Deen?
That makes sense, seeing as Allah created us and our psyche…
On my blog, I share stories of my own struggles and those of my clients, and the ways we overcame those, and you can too by the favor of Allaah.
From a childhood where I didn’t get enough opportunity to safely attach, to becoming a mother that I didn’t want to be, to feeling overwhelmed and tired constantly… I felt like a big mess.
But because I had Allah I knew everything happened for a reason and I was going to find a way to heal!
No WAY I was going to continue the generational trauma and then be asked on Yawm Al Qiyama why I never seriously worked on myself!
Barely functioning but never giving up, I kept learning and researching. I worked with gut specialists, took courses on health and nutrition, followed a trajectory with a functional medicine practitioner, did therapy and coaching, I WORKED.
When I started my search for wellness, I didn’t really understand what was going on in the 1st place. I thought eating healthier and taking supplements would solve everything.
I didn’t understand the profound impact of chronic (childhood) stress on the brain and nervous system and how it doesn’t just go away but rather manifests itself through illness, numbness, anger, anxiety, depression… And how it shapes our view on relationships and our self!
So when eating healthier and healing my gut didn’t help enough, I realized there were more blocks in place, and had to keep digging…
But the main thing I understood from my journey was that the more I relied on Allah for any emotional or physical need, the more He showed me that I was right in doing so.
Through this process I discovered my purpose, offering high touch support to women like me, who want to please Allah and find joy and fulfillment in the process.
Women who feel misunderstood and unsupported in their struggles, like I did.
- Yes, it took effort.
- Yes, it cost money.
- Yes, it demanded patience, there was trial and there was error.
0 regrets alhamdulillah. There’s nothing in this dunya I could have bought that could replace the state of mind and mental peace I have now.
Not to mention, the beautiful relationship with my little ones that are growing rapidly.
Being excited about their presence and the things we do together, without pushing myself beyond my boundaries.
Honoring them whilst honoring myself.
Because what they need most of all is a version of their mother that is not in fight or flight mode, or in a “frozen” nervous system state where she is numb and unable to genuinely connect with people, with sabr and grace and rahma.
They don’t need the perfect mom, they need a mom that’s out of survival mode.
Who can use her mental, physical and emotional resources to offer tools for them to express their own Allah-given creativity and flourish.
They need a mom that can show them what Tawakkul ‘ala Allah and taqwa looks like in real life, so it will be a program for them bi idhni Llaah.
You and your family deserve the best mental wellness too.
I am Amaani, and I believe in a better world for Muslim women.
Who are you, and what do you believe in?
Leave a comment, I love connecting with sisters on different points in their journey!
